Alumni Spotlight – Jenifer Ringer

This month’s Alumni Spotlight feature is particularly exciting because not only is this SAB alumna one of the most accomplished performers, teachers, and répétiteurs in ballet today, but she is also about to take the helm as SAB’s new Director of Intermediate/Advanced Divisions and Artistic Programming! We’re honored to share this exciting news and invite you to watch as Jenifer Ringer reminisces about her time as an SAB student, what it was like to train with legendary teacher Antonina Tumkovsky, and how the experience instilled a work ethic in her that permeates every part of her life still to this day.

After training at SAB, Ms. Ringer joined New York City Ballet and swiftly rose to the rank of principal dancer. Since concluding her celebrated performing career with the Company in 2014, Jenifer has become an accomplished teacher and arts administrator, co-founding the Colburn School’s Dance Academy with James Fayette in Los Angeles in 2017 and serving as Dean of Colburn’s Trudi Zipper Dance Institute until 2021.

Over the past several years she has worked extensively in the U.S. and internationally as a répétiteur for the George Balanchine Trust and for the Jerome Robbins Trust, while also teaching in her home state of South Carolina.

Ms. Ringer will be in our studios this week to teach our Summer Course students and will begin her full-time role at SAB this fall! We are so excited to welcome Jenifer home to SAB and know that she has so much to contribute to the development of our Intermediate and Advanced students and to the day-to-day management of our artistic programs.
