Alumni Scholarship Fund

Champion the next generation of young dancers

SAB alumni do extraordinary things. Each and every one of our alumni is a piece of the fabric that makes SAB what it is today. Now, they are supporting the next generation of SAB students following in their footsteps.

Help ensure students are able to follow their ballet dreams, regardless of financial means. Support contributes to the overall scholarship needs of the SAB community, totaling nearly $2 million every year, including:

  • Children’s Division – Over one third of our Children’s Division students receive scholarship support annually, giving hundreds of young dancers from all across the New York City boroughs and surrounding states the opportunity to take class with our world-renowned faculty and participate in New York City Ballet productions
  • Advanced Division – For students in their final stages of training to become professional dancers, scholarships can cover all they need including on-site housing; access to a nutritionist, counselors, and physical therapist; subsidized pointe shoes; cultural programming; and career essentials like headshots and audition videos
  • Summer Course – Merit-based scholarships are awarded to bring students from across the country and around the world to learn the Balanchine technique and enjoy the vivid culture that New York City has to offer

The Alumni Scholarship Fund inspires alumni of all generations to come together to shape their legacy and that of future SAB students – gifts of every size help to make a real difference.

With a gift of $100 or more, you’ll also receive an SAB Membership with exclusive benefits including:

  • Festive breakfasts with fellow alumni, and the opportunity to view classes at the Halloween and Valentine’s Day Open Houses
  • Listing in the Workshop Performances program with our thanks
  • An invitation to the Workshop Final Rehearsal and Alumni Cocktail Party
  • Plus all the membership benefits that correspond with your level of giving
