Littlest Dancers — Classes for 2-3 Year Olds

The School of American Ballet — the preeminent ballet school in the U.S. and the official school of New York City Ballet — is thrilled to introduce a new program for our youngest movers. Littlest Dancers, an expansion of our SAB OPEN division that serves as an introduction to our Little Dancers classes, is designed for 2-3 year olds. We offer both a class with a caregiver and one without.

Our morning classes for 2-3 year olds actively involve students and their guardian in a dance exploration designed to cultivate body awareness and spatial understanding. By observing, listening, and imitating, children develop a deeper connection with their bodies, become comfortable in a structured learning setting, and learn to follow instructions, preparing them to advance through their ballet education. Our afternoon class for just 3 year olds is a class without a caregiver, though a caregiver may remain onsite to observe the class from the adjacent lounge. Enrolled students participate in a 45-minute class each week in SAB’s beautiful glass studios at our Lincoln Center headquarters, led by members of SAB’s renowned faculty.

Littlest Dancers is a part of the School’s SAB OPEN division which does not require auditions for admission. Enrollment is first-come, first-served.
