Recapping Our First Alumni Homecoming Week
Recap the highlights, community spirit, and new traditions from our inaugural Alumni Homecoming Week, featuring spirit days, an inspiring alumni panel, and our Halloween Open House.
Over the past 90 years, SAB has trained more than 17,000 students in our studios. Our incredible alumni have gone on to have amazing careers as dancers, broadway stars, choreographers, artistic directors, teachers, musicians, designers, doctors, writers, photographers, entrepreneurs, and more. The School is immensely proud of what these former students have achieved and in celebration, we’re starting a new monthly video series called SAB ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT. In each episode, we’ll hear the recollections of one of our alums and find out how their SAB training has impacted their lives.
To start things off, we’re shining the spotlight on Peter Boal! Mr. Boal came to train at SAB when he was nine years old and upon completion, joined New York City Ballet, rising through the ranks to become a principal dancer. While still performing, he joined the full-time faculty at SAB, primarily taking over the classes of his former teacher, Richard Rapp. After retiring from NYCB and SAB in 2005, Mr. Boal took on his current role as Artistic Director of Pacific Northwest Ballet and Director of the PNB school.
Watch to hear a little bit about Mr. Boal’s SAB experience and stay tuned for more alumni features each month!
