A Peek Inside the Studios

SAB Class 2020 - advanced girls studio 1
Since reopening our studios in April for socially distanced classes, our students and faculty have been hard at work maintaining a full schedule that includes a hybrid of Zoom and in-person training. With all of our Covid safety protocols in place, the studios are once again filled with music and movement and it’s such an inspiring sight to see.

The SAB Winter Term wraps up in mid-June, so our students are soaking up this time in the studio before they head home for the summer and we transition to our summer program schedule. As this year has been extremely unpredictable, the School is attempting to provide our students with as many of our usual programs and opportunities as possible in these final months of the school year – including a scaled-down version of our annual Choreography Workshop for advanced students.

As one of our advanced students said, “the limitations of dancing and choreographing while having to stay distant and follow other safety protocols are just small obstacles when it’s really just so nice to be back in the studios making art.”

“It’s undoubtedly been a really hard year because of Covid,” another student shared. “There were a few disappointments, but I’m just so thankful to everyone here – my teachers, my family and the administration for making it possible for me to be back at SAB doing what I love!”

As we approach the final month of Winter Term there is a sense of satisfaction permeating the hallways of SAB. Just witnessing the dedication of our entire community, along with seeing our students work so hard to get the most out of every class – both in-studio and online – is incredibly heartwarming.
