Pre-Registration for Winter Term Auditions for 6-10 Year Olds Now Open

The School of American Ballet is happy to announce that pre-registration for Winter Term auditions for children ages 6-10 years old is now open. These auditions are held throughout the month of April at SAB’s headquarters at Lincoln Center as well as at community locations in Brooklyn, Queens, Harlem, Chinatown and the Bronx. Pre-registration is required for auditions at SAB’s studios and strongly recommended for auditions at community locations.

The Winter Term auditions for this age group are held every spring and are a wonderful opportunity for children with or without previous training to explore their potential for classical dance, as well as have the chance to begin or continue their training at the premier ballet school in the country. Each audition follows the same format and lasts roughly 30 minutes, though that can vary depending on attendance. If accepted, students will be invited to attend the full school year at SAB running from September 2020 to June 2021.

The community auditions are also an excellent way for young children in neighborhoods all over New York City to discover their interest and aptitude for dance. While the SAB studio auditions to include a nominal audition fee, the community auditions are completely free to attend.
