POSTPONED – Virtual Workshop Performance Celebration

SAB presents its first-ever Virtual Workshop Performance Celebration premiering June 1, 2020, at 7:00 pm ET on, YouTube, and Facebook.

We invite our supporters, students and ballet fans everywhere to join the celebration and to consider supporting the School’s continuing excellence during the pandemic crisis through the SAB Response Fund.

The School of American Ballet’s annual Workshop Performances have been a celebrated rite of passage for some of the most promising ballet students in the nation for the past 55 years and a treasured opportunity for ballet aficionados to spot “the stars of tomorrow”. While the coronavirus pandemic has forced the cancellation of the live Workshop Performances that had originally been scheduled to take place this spring, we are pleased to present a collection of outstanding performances from recent years including Scotch Symphony from 2017, Circus Polka and In Creases from 2018, and Agon (pas de deux) from 2019. Our special celebration will also include commentary and introductions by SAB’s Artistic Director Jonathan Stafford and Chairman of Faculty Kay Mazzo, distinguished alumni Justin Peck and Maria Kowroski, and SAB’s senior faculty member Suki Schorer. You’ll also see the public announcement of the 2020 Mae L. Wien Awards for Outstanding Promise, a distinction awarded to three senior students who show significant potential for high professional achievement.

This special streaming event will be available from Monday, June 1, at 7:00 pm ET until Friday, June 5, at 7:00 pm ET.  SAB’s Virtual Workshop Performance Celebration is a featured program of Lincoln Center At Home’s “Dance Week”.
