Announcing SAB’s 2023 Lecture-Demonstrations, The Beauty of Ballet
SAB’s Lecture-Demonstration program, The Beauty of Ballet, returns to Queens, Harlem, and the Bronx this February and March. The free, hour-long presentation is led by SAB faculty member Katrina Killian and features advanced SAB students. Guests are offered a sneak peek inside SAB’s classroom to witness how students train to become professional dancers. The program concludes with excerpts from famous ballets, including The Nutcracker, Swan Lake and The Sleeping Beauty – performed by our students in costume to live music.
This year, SAB will host The Beauty of Ballet at Queens Theatre in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park (February 26), Hostos Center for the Arts and Culture in the Bronx (March 5), and The City College Center for the Arts in Harlem (March 18). The program is presented for a family audience and gives young children a wonderful introduction to the art of ballet.
