2015 Valentine's Day Open House

Class Schedule

10:30 a.m.  – 12:00 p.m.

D (Studio 1 / Susan Pilarre)
This is the most advanced of the women’s classes. Many students from this class are invited to join professional companies.

C – 2 (Studio 4 / Kay Mazzo)
Girls in this level are about 16 or 17 years old.  Students work to develop stamina as well as speed and lightness.

C – 1 (Studio 5 / Suki Schorer)
SAB’s first Advanced Division class.  Girls at this level take 11 classes a week, including Adagio and Variations.



12:30 – 2:00 p.m.

Advanced Men (Studio 1 / Andrei Kramarevsky)
The Intermediate and Advanced Men's classes focus on the physical strength, power, and brilliance of male dancing with particular emphasis on elevation, pirouettes and beats.

Toe D (Studio 4 / Darci Kistler)
Students work to develop strong technique en pointe, helping dancers learn to create an impression of airiness and fleetingness in their movements.
 

2:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Advanced Men Variations (Studio 1)
Students are learning variations, which are not combinations, but are the actual solo dances from classic and contemporary ballets.

C-2 Variations (Studio 4 / Suki Schorer)
Students are learning variations, which are not combinations, but are the actual solo dances from classic and contemporary ballets.

C-1 Variations (Studio 4/Kay Mazzo)
Students are learning variations, which are not combinations, but are the actual solo dances from classic and contemporary ballets. Learning these dances helps to develop a student's musicality, memory and stage presence.
