Events

The School of American Ballet hosts four annual benefits that help raise funds to ensure SAB continues the extraordinary training of classical ballet students. These events give patrons the opportunity to enjoy special student performances and behind the scenes looks at life at the School:

A Student Choreography Evening - Occuring each fall, A Student Choreography Evening showcases original ballets choreographed by some of SAB’s advanced students. Performances are followed by an intimate dinner.

The Nutcracker Family Benefit - One of SAB’s most popular events and the School’s family-friendly benefit, The Nutcracker Family Benefit is a joint effort with New York City Ballet. This very special afternoon includes a matinee performance of George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker followed by a festive holiday party on the Promenade of the New York State Theater.

Winter Ball - SAB’s glamorous dinner dance featuring advanced students performing a unique piece choreographed specifically for the Winter Ball. Another highlight of this event is the exciting after party, The Encore, hosted by SAB’s Young Patrons.

Workshop Performance Benefit
- In June the School holds the much anticipated Workshop Performances. These performances are a sneak preview of the ballet world’s up and coming young stars. The benefit includes tickets to the Workshop Performance followed by dinner and dancing in the School’s studios.
