The School welcomes international students between the ages of 12 and 18 to audition for the Summer Course either in person at one of our international or national audition cities, or by submitting a video application to the School. 

Each fall, SAB travels to 2 to 3 cities internationally to audition applicants in person for the following year's Summer Course.  The cities and schedule vary from year to year.  For information about the upcoming International Auditions, please click here. 


NOTE: We are no longer accepting video applications for the 2013 Summer Course.  We are currently processing the applications that have been submitted and will communicate results to applicants by the end of February. 

International students (those residing outside the continental United States) may audition by submitting a video on a DVD in American standard format (NTSC) in lieu of an in-person audition. The video should portray the student in practice clothes (girls in leotard and tights; boys in T-shirt and tights) in an abbreviated class with the full range of barre and center exercise and, for girls, pointe work.

Audition packages for international students interested in attending the 2013 Summer Course should be submitted between November 15, 2012, and January 31, 2013.

The procedure for submitting a video application is as follows:

1. Complete the Video Application Form online – This form collects your biographical and contact information as well as information on your previous ballet training. It is submitted online through our web site. At the same time you submit the form, you will also need to pay the $35(USD) application fee online using a credit card. Please be prepared to provide billing information before beginning the application form. Note: The online application form will remain available through Jan 31. Once the form closes, we will not longer be accepting video applications for the 2013 Summer Course.

2. Print out a copy of the completed form to include in your video package – After you have successfully completed the online application form, a confirmation box will appear on your screen and prompt you to access and print the application form. Print a copy of the form to include with your DVD to SAB. You will also have the opportunity to print the form from a confirmation email.

3. Prepare and send your package to SAB – Your package to SAB should include the following:
-Your DVD
-A copy of the completed online application form
-A copy of your birth certificate or passport to confirm your date of birth
We recommend sending your package using a service that will track your shipment such as FedEx, UPS or DHL. SAB is not responsible for lost or missing shipments. All packages should be sent to:

4. Receipt and Results - SAB will confirm receipt of your DVD via email. Application results are distributed on a rolling basis through March 1. If you do not receive an email with your application results by March 1, please send an email with the applicant’ s name & email address to webhelp@sab.org.
