2009 Audition in Paris, France

SAB will hold in-person auditions for intermediate and advanced students between the ages of 12 and 18 in Paris, France, on November 14, 2009.  Students of any nationality may attend the audition. Those who audition will be considered for admission to the 2010 Summer Course.  Students residing in France who are unable to attend the Paris audition may also audition for the Summer Course by submitting a video application or by attending an audition on the U.S. National Audition Tour or at SAB in New York City.

The audition class, which will include barre and center work, will be taught by SAB faculty member Suki Schorer.

AUDITION DATE & TIMES

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2009

Ages 12-15*

Ages 16-18*
5:00-6:30 p.m.

6:30-8:00 p.m.

Please arrive for registration ONE HOUR before your audition time.


* Students must be no younger than 12-years-old as of June 30, 2010, and no older than 18-years-old as of June 30, 2010, to enroll for the 2010 Summer Course.

The auditions will take place at Académie Américaine de Danse de Paris.

AUDITION FEE

An application fee of €30 per student must be paid at the time of the audition. Payment must be in the form of cash or international money order.
 
AUDITION RESULTS

All students who audition in Paris will be notified of the results of their audition by e-mail within one month of the audition date.  Those who are accepted will also receive further information about the registration process for the 2010 Summer Course via e-mail.

IMPORTANT AUDITION INFORMATION

  • No pre-registration is required. The audition is open to Intermediate and Advanced ballet students between the ages of 12 and 18.

  • All applicants must show official proof of birth at the time of the audition. Only a passport or official government document will be accepted as proof.

  • Recommendation letters, photographs and resumés are NOT required for the audition.

  • Girls must bring pointe shoes to the audition.

  • Applicants should arrive at the audition location one hour in advance of the time scheduled for their age group in order to register.

  • Girls should wear a solid-color leotard and pink tights to the audition. Boys should wear a plain t-shirt and black tights to the audition.

  • The audition will resemble a ballet class with barre and center work.  Students do not need to prepare a solo or variation in advance of the audition.

  • Observation of auditions is not permitted.
