The School of American Ballet hosts or participates in a number of events each year. While some are open to the public, others are restricted to alumni or members of the School's Association and Donors Circle.

Student Choreography Workshop

Advisory Council and Donors Circle members are invited to this reception and informal showing of new student choreography. Students choose their music and dancers, most of them choreographing for the very first time.

Association Seminar

Association members and above are invited to this behind-the-scenes look at the School. This year’s seminar will focus on “Intermediate Girls at SAB: The Transformation from Student to Dancer Begins” and will feature faculty member, Katrina Killian and B-2 students.

Nutcracker Family Benefit

Hosted by both SAB and NYCB this festive family benefit follows a performance of the Nutcracker in the David H. Koch Theater and is ideal for children ages 4 to 12. Tickets and Tables are available for purchase.

National Audition Tour
January and February
SAB's travels to nearly two dozen locations across the United States to conduct auditions for its annual 5-week Summer Course. Students ages 12 through 18 are welcome to audition.

Winter Ball

SAB’s glamorous gala featuring advanced students performing a unique piece choreographed specifically for the Winter Ball. Another highlight of this event is the exciting after party, The Encore, hosted by SAB’s Young Patrons. This year’s Winter Ball is sponsored by Van Cleef and Arpels. Patrons Circle Seminar and Reception

Patrons Circle members and above are invited for an educational seminar featuring faculty and advanced students. Topic to be determined.

Patrons Circle members and higher are invited to see the Workshop process in an early studio viewing hosted by SAB’s Artistic Director and Executive Director. Directors and Chairmen Circle members are invited to an elegant dinner following the preview.

Workshop Final Rehearsal

Partner members and above are invited to this final dress rehearsal before the three public SAB Workshop Performances. The rehearsal takes place in the Peter Jay Sharp Theater at the Juilliard School.

46th Annual Workshop Performances
Saturday, June 5
2pm and 8pm
The Workshop is SAB students’ only public performance of the school year. Dozens of advanced students participate each year performing classical works by Balanchine, Robbins, Bouronville and other masters, as well as new choreography made especially on SAB students. The performances take place at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater at The Juilliard School and include full costumes, lighting and a live orchestra.
Founders Society “Picnic”

Donors who have made a bequest or other planned gift to SAB are invited to this informal annual event. Guests are invited to watch class following lunch.
